Now let me tell you I searched high and low for a frame that looked kinda like Cape Girardeau’s logo, and I couldn’t find anything under $500. So I gave in and bought this frame at Hobby Lobby and I think it turned out pretty great.
Huge shout out to Cassi who did the absolutely beautiful sugar skull makeup, and to Shannon for being so very patient! I have to say CGRG: Cape Girardeau Roller Girls is one of my top favorite logo!

Two weeks ago I had the absolute pleasure shooting with the Derby City Roller Girls. I will be posting photos for my roller derby portrait series every other day.
For this series I really wanted to do something that I haven’t seen done before with derby portraits. So I came up with the idea of making these beautiful girls into different league logos.
I couldn’t have done any of this without the help of this amazing team. Especially to all the girls who stepped up to help out with hair and makeup you all are wonderful. Also a big thank you to the amazing Grace Battcher for her beautiful makeup skills, and my phenomenal assistant Katy Campbell for putting up with me for the whole day. I couldn’t have done it with out you two!
Also a big shout out to Champs Rollerdome for letting us use their rink, and to Bill Adams with Custom Hardwood Supply for making such a beautiful prop!
To start out this series I figured it would be appropriate to start out with the amazing team that I love so much, the Derby City Roller Girls, who is modeled by the beautiful Dixxie Mea.

This was the best photo shoot I have honestly ever had. I can’t express how much I really do love these girls. :D I just can’t wait to post the rest to this series! Not to mention keep it going with more logos and more girls!
Had an AMAZING photoshoot with the derby city roller girls yesterday! To everyone who came out and also to everyone who stepped up to help out with hair and makeup THANK YOU. You guys are amazing and I couldn’t have done it with out you guys!!!
The end of the semester is around the corner which means finals are almost here. However this semester I am completely and utter excited and crazy nervous bout my lighting final. The final is a portrait series, and I decided to shoot my roller derby team as different league logos. My friends think I’m crazy, even my professor thinks its a bit ambitious, but you know what…this industry is all about taking risks, and thats what I’m doing! Oh did I mention the shoot is next saturday and I’m freaking out. I still have tons of props to make, make sure everyone can make it on saturday; contact the girls I need to shoot at the set up in my house, try to find a couple more make-up artist, and a hair stylist, coordinate outfits with the girls, oh and breath. However, I’m super duper excited because a lot of the girls are willing to help me out. Now I just hope they still can by the end of the week. *internally screaming*
Reblogging because I want all of my followers to be aware of just how much you can do in Photoshop, and how little of what you see on posters, in magazines and of pictures on the internet etc. are necessarily real.
